Optum Transfer DRG Service Overview

OptumInsight offers a transfer DRG service for providers that identifies Medicare underpayments (as well as overpayments) resulting from patient transfers to post-acute care. The results highlight the opportunity to re-bill Medicare for reimbursement of the underpayments.

For Optum Transfer DRG Service clients, we analyze and identify claims that have potential for additional reimbursement. We then follow up with payers and post-acute care providers on a claim-by-claim basis to accurately determine each patient’s real subsequent level of care, and quantify any additional payments due. You will have the option to perform the follow-up, or we will re-bill payers on your behalf for the correct amounts.
