Optum™ LYNX Infusion Charging Application Overview

Infusion and injections are unique in that they generate a high volume of transactions and are governed by a complex set of rules. Unlike the clinical documentation typically used for exams and procedures, there is rarely a one-to-one relationship between the infusion and injection treatment and applicable charges. In fact, the charging logic becomes harder to understand as additional agents are used in the patient’s regimen. This combination makes infusion services a prime target for payer audits and regulatory-agency investigations.

The Optum^™ LYNX Infusion Charging Application was specially designed to overcome these issues. The Infusion Charging Application user interface allows users to enter clinical information, and the Optum LYNX infusion charging algorithm performs the translation to financial terms for appropriate and defensible charging. With the Infusion Charging Application, hospitals can receive the same level of certainty and confidence for infusion charging that is available in the Optum LYNX ED Charging Application, the Optum LYNX Oncology Charging Application, and the Optum LYNX Observation Charging Application.
