After coding but prior to billing, completed records are processed through Compliance Audit Triggers (CATs) which define potential coding, compliance, and/or quality problems using combinations of available clinical information. The application also comes pre-loaded with 2,000 OptumInsight CATs, which include edits for known risk areas including MS-DRG and RAC. Facilities can also define their own CATs based on their own specific issues.
The Compliance Module notifies coders and coding managers of potential compliance problems prior to billing. The application allows coding managers to create user-defined edits that identify potential coding, compliance, and/or quality problems. These edits alert coders to problems during a coding session. User-defined edits may be created for facility-specific issues using combinations of available clinical information.
The Web.Strat Compliance Module’s Audit Manager is a robust application for defining, updating, and maintaining all of your user edits and CATs. Once created, user-defined edits are displayed on the edits tab in Web.Strat. CATs are displayed on the compliance tab in Web.Strat for only those users with permissions to access and manage the compliance process and audit claims.
